Return to Valley Bridge Lyrics

This song just ended up this way. I wanted to write about looking in my rear view mirror at things I left behind me, and how time flies by quicker as I get older.
It took me a while to get this thing going, conceptually, but, once I started putting the lines together into verses, it came out this way. Kind of a nice surprise. I never know how an idea will end up once I work on it for several days.
I truly hope real life echoes this idea. I have no reason to think it won't.

The flowers bloom, trees turn green
Warmer days have melted the snow
Seasons changed so quickly again
There’s no slowing down on this road
Many things change around me
Things I don’t want to forget
My past is in my rear view mirror
That’s where my memories are kept
There are a few things time hasn’t changed
Through all the ups and downs we have seen
Sun still rises, birds sing their songs
And my love for you is still strong
Not everything becomes history
Our love won’t be a memory
The dashes on the road move faster
No matter how slow I try to go
The light ahead is always green
Like a river that continues to flow
Many things I see in passing
Seasons change, children grow
Our love won’t become a memory
It’ll stay with us as we grow old
There are a few things time hasn’t changed
Through all the ups and downs we have seen
Sun still rises, birds sing their songs
And my love for you is still strong
Not everything becomes history
Our love won’t be a memory
I don’t need my rear view mirror
To recall our love any clearer
No matter how far we will travel along
My love for you will stay strong
Through all the changes in history
Our love won’t be a memory
Our love won’t be a memory
